Blue Divers, Sydney 17-05-26

 

Blue Divers Trio at the Metro Social in Sydney on 17/05/26, playing alongside Astrid, Warm Currency and David Chesworth. I think the last time we played in Sydney was 17 months ago. It's not like we have played many shows elsewhere in that time, but that feels like a long time.

Entities, Fires, Connection and Dances - from time spent in the Rainforest

 There's a cool album coming out mid-year that I played a little guitar on. Ali Jef - Entities, Fires, Connection and Dances - from time spent in the Rainforest. A single from the album is out now with some b-sides. My contribution was sitting on the floor of Ali's bedroom one afternoon playing guitar through a Roland SP404, using its various effects options. My method was quickly dialling in quite crude and ugly sounds, committing to whatever came out and trying to make something beautiful from the sound.

update on concerts next week

 Essendon Airport have had to postpone their NSW/ACT tour due to illness, but David Chesworth will be performing his 50 Synthesizer Greats material instead. We will now be joining in on the Franks show in Thirroul. So that will be 3 shows in 3 days for us:

Concerts next weekend

Blue Divers - in a new trio formation of drums (Oliver Mestitz), bass (Jake Core) and guitar (Alec Marshall) - will perform two concerts next week. The first is with Gayab (गायब) at Swoon in Wollongong on Friday 15 May.

Then we will play with Essendon Airport, Warm Currency and Astrid at Metro Social in Sydney on Sunday 16 May. Presented by Prop Records.
